  • What brides ask

    Do I need a trial?

I’d always do one, about two months before. We try two looks, take photos by a window, and you leave wearing it for the rest of the day.

How early do you start on the day?

It depends on how many faces. For a bride and four others, I start about four hours before you leave.

Do you do hair as well?

No, just makeup. I’m happy to pass on the names of stylists I work with often.

What if my skin is sensitive?

Tell me when you book. I’ll bring products without fragrance, and we test a small amount on your jaw at the trial first.

Put up photos of your sets or looks. A gallery opens each one larger when it’s tapped, and a grid can carry a price under each set, in your own words.

  • Someone cancelled and I have a spot at 1

Post “Opening today at 1, book below” at the top of your page from your phone. It comes down by itself when the time you picked runs out.

  • Clients forget what to do afterwards

Write your aftercare on your page and it prints as cards to hand over, four to a sheet, each with a code back to your page.

  • Brides want to meet me before they book

List the wedding fairs you’ll be at, with the date and the place. Each one comes off your page once it’s over.

We keep improving your page, free.

When we improve how search engines and AI answer engines read pages, yours gets the change by itself.

What that covers

When we improve how search engines and AI answer engines read pages, yours gets the change by itself.

  • Facts search engines can read. Your page carries structured data: who you are, where you are, your hours and dates, and your links, in the terms search engines and AI answer engines read. It’s built from what’s on your page and nothing else, and when those terms change, we update every page.
  • Events, menus and prices. Dates, menus, price lists, questions and releases are each described the way search engines expect them, and an event carries its venue and ticket link when you’ve given them.
  • Found when it changes. Once your page is in search, it’s in our sitemap with the date it last changed, and we tell the search engines that use IndexNow when it changes or first comes into search.

Nobody can promise a place in search results or a mention in an AI answer, so we don’t. What we can do is make your page easy to read and accurate, and keep it that way.

Can clients pay a deposit through my page?
No, because money never moves on a Portage page. Your Book button goes to the booking app you already use, so your deposits and reminders stay there.
Can I price nail art by the nail?
Yes. Every price is words you write, so you can put “a nail” after the number, or write “Ask me” for anything you quote. Each service can say how long it takes, too.
I go to my clients. Do I need an address on my page?
No. Leave it off and say where you travel in your own words. If you work from a studio, add your hours with the address, and your page says whether you’re open right now.
Can people find my page when they search for me?
Your page is real text, so search engines can read your name, your town and the services on your price list. Nobody can promise a place in the results, but a client who searches your name after seeing your work has your page to land on.
Is it really free?
Yes. Every page feature is free for everyone. You only pay if you want an identity or business check, Unmarked to take the Portage credit off a business page, your page on a domain you already own, custom work from the studio, or, if you look after more than 5 clients’ pages, the Agency plan. One organisation running 10 or more pages of its own can choose Enterprise. None of those adds a feature. Every free page has a small Made with Portage line at the bottom, ours included, and your page never comes down because you didn’t buy something.
