Portage refunds
Getting your money back.
What we refund, how to ask, and how long it takes. It’s the same for every way of paying.

The short version
If a check doesn’t pass, you get all your money back. Anything you pay for can be refunded in full within 30 days of paying, for any reason. You don’t need to explain why.
Gifts to support Portage don’t buy anything, so there’s nothing to return, but a gift made by mistake goes back to you.
Nothing here takes away rights you have under the law where you live.

Identity verified and Business verified
If a check doesn’t pass, you get a full refund whenever that happens, and no mark goes on your page. If you change your mind, you get a full refund within 30 days of paying, whether or not the check has been done yet, and the mark comes off if it’s already there.
Anything bought through Polar or Stripe that renewed for another year can be refunded in full within 30 days of the renewal too.
After 30 days, the rest of the year isn’t refunded. You can cancel at any time so it doesn’t renew, and the mark stays on your page until the paid year ends.
Unmarked
You can have a full refund for Unmarked within 30 days of paying for it, for any reason, and the Made with Portage credit comes back on your page. After 30 days the rest of the year isn’t refunded.
Cancel at any time and it won’t renew; the credit stays off your page until the paid year ends.
Room for client pages
You can have a full refund for room within 30 days of paying for it, for any reason. Room you add partway through your year is charged for the months left of it, and room you take away ends when its year does. After 30 days the rest of a year isn’t refunded.
If your room ends, no client page comes down: you keep editing 10 of your choice, and every page stays up for its owner and its visitors.
Unmarked or a check you bought for a client’s page follows the rules above for it, and the refund goes back to whoever paid.
Gifts
If you gave by mistake, or more than you meant to, write to us within 30 days and we’ll send it back.
A monthly gift by e-Transfer stops whenever you like, in your own bank. Stopping it doesn’t refund the months already given.
How to ask
Email hello@cadenic.studio from the address you sign in with, and tell us which page it’s for and what you’d like refunded. We reply within two working days.
A gift by card was given through Gumroad, and its receipt has a link to contact us.
How the money comes back
Anything paid by card goes back to the card you paid with, through the company that took the payment. It usually shows on your statement within ten working days, depending on your bank.
An Interac e-Transfer comes back as an e-Transfer from hello@cadenic.studio, for the full amount you sent, within two working days of your request. We send it to the email address you sign in with unless you give us another. If your bank asks a security question, we send the answer in a separate email.
A bank transfer comes back as a bank transfer from our business account at Wise, to the account it came from, in the currency you paid, for the full amount you sent, within two working days of your request.
Money that isn’t ours always goes back, whether or not you ask: anything over the price, a second payment on a code that’s already paid, or a payment we can’t match, within 14 days of it arriving.
A gift by card goes back the way it came, through Gumroad. Anything bought through Polar or Stripe follows the same rules, refunded through whichever of them took the payment.
If we stop offering it
If we ever stop offering a check, Unmarked or room, or shut Portage down, we refund the part of your year you haven’t used.

Cadenic Studios is a sole proprietorship owned by Wyatt McPherson in Edmonton, Alberta. It makes Portage.
Paying by card isn’t open yet. Every order today is paid by Interac e-Transfer or by bank transfer, and sold to you by Cadenic Studios directly.
