Portage is made by Cadenic Studios. We pay the bills by building software for clients, which is how we can keep every feature free. It’s also why we can build something just for you.

Use letters, numbers, hyphens or underscores. You can change it later.

Is there a feature I only get if I pay?

No, and there never will be. Every block, theme, stat and export is free for everyone.

Why charge for verification at all?

Because a person has to look at your ID or your business registration, and that takes time. The fee pays for that time and for sorting out any disputes afterwards.

Does my page have to use my legal name to get verified?

No. Your page can use a stage name, an alias or any name you like. For an identity check you give us the name on your ID privately, before the call or on it. Only the person at the studio who does your check sees it, it’s stored encrypted, and it never appears on your page, your mark or anywhere public.

What does the free mark check?

That the profiles you list link back to your page. Portage visits each one every week and looks for the link. Anyone can list an account, but only the person who runs it can add a link back to your page.

Can I just buy the mark?

No. The mark only goes up once the check passes. If your ID doesn’t match the name you give us, or your registration doesn’t match your business, you get your money back.

I run a small business. Do I need business verification?

Probably not. It’s meant for organisations that get copied or impersonated. If that isn’t happening to you, you don’t need it.

Does any of this change the free page?

No. Nothing in the editor is locked or has a price on it. The only prices you’ll see there are in the Verification panel, and once in Settings next to the Made with Portage credit. People who visit your page never see a price or get asked for money.

Can I get my money back?

Yes. If a check doesn’t pass, you get all your money back. Anything you pay for can be refunded in full within 30 days of paying, for any reason, and the refunds page has the rest.

Can I remove the Made with Portage credit?

Only with Unmarked, which is for businesses. It’s a yearly add-on that takes the credit off your page and doesn’t change anything else. Every other page keeps the credit, because it’s one of the ways people find Portage.

I look after pages for clients. What does that cost?

Nothing for your first 10 clients, with every tool. Past 10, you add room 10 client pages at a time, and the price is on the Agency card. Nobody on your team is ever counted, and a client’s page never comes down because of a bill.

What about custom work?

That’s done by Cadenic Studios, the studio that makes Portage. We can draw you a landscape, turn your brand into a theme or build a block you need, and you’ll get a written quote before we start.
