Portage for small businesses

People can see you’re open before they head over.

Add your opening hours once and your page tells people whether you’re open right now, or when you open next. Your phone number and directions can go on it too.

People turn up when we’re closed

Your page says if you’re open right now, with the whole week a tap away. Add a holiday ahead and it says closed that day.

  • Our menu changes with the seasons

Upload it as a PDF and swap it when it changes. Anything hidden in the file, like whose computer made it, comes out first.

  • We run an offer that ends

Give a link a start and end date and it comes and goes by itself. For today only, put one line at the top that clears itself.

  • I want search engines to know we’re a business

One setting in the editor tells search engines your page belongs to a business, with your hours and where you are.

  • I don’t want another subscription

You won’t need one. Every feature is free for everyone.

Small businesses get every feature free, like everyone else. If other pages copy your name, you can pay for a business check that confirms yours is the real one, and Unmarked takes the Portage credit off your page. You don’t need either one.

How these work, step by step: QR code and print kit, stats without cookies, one link for both app stores, know which bio sent them, built for screen readers, questions and answers and a menu or price list.

What shop owners ask us.

Will the page say whether we’re open right now?
Yes. The hours block says whether you’re open right now and until when, or when you open next. It uses your shop’s own time zone, the same as the sign on your door. In the Shopfront theme, the OPEN sign follows your hours too, and a Closed card hangs on the door when you close.
Can people save our details to their phone?
Yes. Add a contact card and people can save your name, business, phone, email and website to their contacts in one tap. It also works when your page is opened inside another app’s browser.
Is this a website replacement?
Not really. It’s a good single link for a business that doesn’t have a website yet, or one that does and needs a spot for everything else. If you need several pages, online ordering or bookings, you’ll still want a proper website, and our studio builds those too.
Can we put our page on the window?
Yes. Your page prints as a window sign with your week of opening hours and a code that opens your page, drawn in your page’s own landscape, so you can tape it inside the glass. There’s a table tent for the counter that reads the right way up from both sides, too. Each one has its own code, so your stats show which one people scanned.
Can an agency look after our page?
Yes, and it stays yours. Invite them from your page and they edit it from their own sign-in, without your password. Your page keeps a record of who changed what, you can take them off whenever you like, and it never comes down because of their bill. Whoever looks after it can take Made with Portage off for you from their own account, or you can buy Unmarked yourself. If someone built your page for you, they can hand it to your email, and it stays up at the same address the whole time.
Is it really free? What’s the catch?
No catch. Every feature is free for everyone. You only pay if you want an identity or business check, Unmarked to take the Portage credit off a business page, room to look after more than ten clients’ pages from one account, or custom work from the studio. None of those adds a feature. Every free page has a small Made with Portage line at the bottom, ours included, and your page never comes down because you didn’t buy something.

Put your link on the window and the van.

Add it to your receipts and your listings too. There’s nothing to renew.

Use letters, numbers, hyphens or underscores. You can change it later.
