Portage for podcasters

Your newest episode is always on your page.

Paste your RSS feed once and there’s nothing to update after that. If you ever switch hosts, your link in bio stays the same.

Room Tone

Long conversations with people who make things for a living

A new episode every other Thursday, mostly about the unglamorous parts of the work.

On a real page this opens whatever link you add

Your own page can link to anything with a web address.

Make one like this

Tap the address to open Room Tone’s page and try it.

Nothing loads from your host until someone presses play.

Paste your feed. That’s the setup.

  1. Paste your feed.

Or your Apple Podcasts link, and we find the feed for you.

  2. Your newest episode appears.

Title, date, length and a player, every week, by itself.

  3. Put it in your show notes.

One link, whichever app your listeners use.

Sponsors give us codes and want numbers

A sponsor’s code gets a block that copies with one tap and says it’s a paid partnership. Send them your real numbers by link, too.

  • I want my own list of listeners

Put an email sign-up on your page and download the addresses whenever you like. We don’t send anything to the people on it.

  • Listeners ask where to subscribe

One Listen button opens your show in the listener’s own app. Don’t know your feed? Paste your Apple Podcasts link and we find it.

  • I don’t want a tracker on my page

The player is built into your page, and nothing loads from your host until someone presses play.

  • I changed host and every link broke

Your Portage link doesn’t change. Paste in the new feed and every place you’ve shared your link still works.

It’s free, so there’s no plan to pick and nothing to cancel.

How these work, step by step: an email list that’s yours, a Listen button for podcasts, share your numbers, password and age locks and a release with pre-saves.

Three shows, each with its newest episode ready to play.

We made all three up. Each reads its newest episode from the show’s feed, and apart from that they look nothing alike. We made all three up. Start from any of them.

What podcasters ask about the feed.

Do I have to update the page when I publish an episode?
No. Each new episode shows up on its own once your RSS feed is in, with its title, date, length and a player.
Does the player track my listeners?
No. The player doesn’t load anything until someone presses play. The audio then comes straight from your podcast host, so your host counts the download like it normally would. We don’t count plays at all.
Which podcast hosts work?
If your host gives your show an RSS feed, it’ll work. You’ll usually find the feed address in your host’s settings, and it’s the same one you gave the podcast apps.
Does the On Air theme know when I’m live?
Yes, if you stream your show. In On Air, the ON AIR sign over the booth is lit while you’re live and dark when you’re not, from your Go live card or your channel’s live badge.
Can people tell my page is really mine?
Yes. Each profile that links back to your page gets a tick, and that’s free. If someone is pretending to be you, Identity verified adds a mark once your ID is checked. It’s $39 a year.
Can my page show when I’m live, or link my Discord?
Yes. If you record live on Twitch, add your channel and your page shows a live badge while you’re on. Add your show’s Discord invite too, and the page shows how many people are online in it. Neither one adds a cookie to your page.
Is it really free? What’s the catch?
No catch. Every feature is free for everyone. You only pay if you want an identity or business check, Unmarked to take the Portage credit off a business page, room to look after more than ten clients’ pages from one account, or custom work from the studio. None of those adds a feature. Every free page has a small Made with Portage line at the bottom, ours included, and your page never comes down because you didn’t buy something.

Put one link in every episode’s show notes.

From there, listeners can pick whichever app they like.

Use letters, numbers, hyphens or underscores. You can change it later.

Every feature is free. See what costs money
