Portage terms
The rules for using Portage.
Here’s what you can put on your page and what happens if something goes wrong.
Last changed 7 October 2026
The short version
Every feature of Portage is free for everyone, including every tool for looking after other people’s pages, and you can take your page with you whenever you want.
We won’t put ads on your page or sell your data, and nothing you use today will start costing money.
On this page14 sections
Your account
Your own page is one per account, and you can look after other people’s pages when they ask you to. You’re responsible for the email address you sign in with, since anyone who can get into it can sign in.
Only bring in a page you have the right to use. Bringing an old link page into your editor is for your own page, or a page you look after with its owner’s say-so, and doing it is your promise to us that you have that right. A preview made before you sign up is only a look at what we’d make of it: nothing from it is published unless you sign up and publish it yourself.
You keep everything you put on your page. You only give us what we need to show it to the people you send there.
We ask AI companies not to train on your page or on what you upload, and we don’t use either to train anything ourselves. How we ask is set out at portage.camp/fetcher.
Handles
Handles are first come, first served. We won’t give out a handle that looks too much like one that’s already taken, including one that swaps in look-alike letters.
If someone registers a handle to impersonate a person or an organisation, we’ll take it away and give it to whoever they were pretending to be, if they want it.
We don’t sell or auction handles, and we won’t take one from someone who’s using it to give it to a bigger name.
Looking after other people’s pages
A page’s owner can ask other people to help run it, as a manager or an editor, with an invitation by email or a link they copy and send. A manager can edit and publish the page, see its numbers and its sign-up list, invite and remove other helpers, and pay for a check or Unmarked for it. An editor can edit and publish it and see its numbers. Only the owner can hand the page to someone else, delete it, or confirm its 18+ declaration.
The page stays its owner’s. The owner can take anyone off it at any time, and anyone who helps with a page can leave it whenever they like. Each version records who published it.
A page can be handed to someone else by their email. Both of you confirm it, and the page moves whole, with its address, numbers, history and anything paid for it, without going down. An identity check is of a person, so it stays with whoever it checked, and its mark comes off the page. The new owner decides whether the person who handed it over stays on.
If someone holds a page for a business and won’t hand it over, the business can ask us, and we move the page to it once it shows the page is about it, the same way we deal with impersonation.
One account can look after up to 10 other people’s pages as their manager for free, with every tool. Past 10, room for 10 more is paid for once a year, as set out under What costs money. Your own page never counts, and nor does a page you only edit, so nobody on a team is ever counted.
If room you paid for ends, no page comes down, and nothing changes for any page’s owner or its visitors. You keep editing 10 of the pages you manage (the ones you’ve looked after longest, unless you choose others) and the rest are paused for you until you add room. You can still open a paused page, read its history, leave it or hand it back.
What you may not put on a page
Anything unlawful where you are or where we are.
Anything that impersonates someone else, or is set up to be mistaken for an organisation you have nothing to do with. That includes pretending to be another creator.
Malware, phishing, or a link meant to deceive the person who taps it.
Pornographic content of any kind on Portage itself, on any page, 18+ or not: nudity, sex, or writing meant to arouse, whether it’s a picture, a video, a file or words. Link to where it lives instead.
Anything sexual involving someone under 18, in any form, ever, or a link to anything that shows a minor that way. We remove it and report it to the Canadian Centre for Child Protection and the police. We don’t put it back.
Intimate pictures or video of anyone who didn’t agree to them being shared, or links to them. That includes leaks, stolen clips, hidden cameras, and fakes of a real person made with AI.
Offering, advertising or arranging in-person sexual services, including escorting, erotic massage, and arrangements that trade sex for money or gifts.
Selling adult content, or taking payment or tips for it, through Portage. The platforms you link to handle that.
Anything that harasses someone, or that’s meant to send other people after them.
18+ creators
If you make adult content and sell it somewhere built for it, like OnlyFans, Fansly, Fanvue, LoyalFans, ManyVids, JustFor.Fans, a clip store or a cam site, you’re welcome here, and your page can link to all of it.
Those links, and those sites’ logos, go in your page’s 18+ section. Visitors tap once to confirm they’re 18 or older and the section opens right there. Everything else on your page stays open to everyone. A link to one of those sites goes into the section by itself.
Your own photos are fine anywhere on your page, as long as you’d be happy to use them as your Instagram profile picture.
To turn 18+ on, you confirm: “I’m 18 or older, and everyone in the content I link to is an adult who agreed to it.” We keep that with the date. You can’t have an 18+ section or a page marked 18+ if you’re under 18.
Pages with an 18+ section and pages marked 18+ are kept out of search (for a section, unless you choose otherwise), show no preview picture when they’re shared, are titled with just your name unless you write your own title, and don’t tell the sites you link to where visitors came from. Nobody sees the addresses in your 18+ section until they’ve confirmed, and search engines see exactly what people see.
The confirmation is your visitor’s word. Portage doesn’t check anyone’s age and never says it does.
Content warnings
You can show a content warning before your page opens, or mark the whole page 18+ so visitors confirm their age before it opens. Either way it’s a courtesy to your visitors and doesn’t check anyone’s age.
A page with a warning is kept out of search and shows no preview picture when it’s shared. A page marked 18+ also doesn’t tell the sites you link to where visitors came from, and is marked with the standard adult-content rating so parental controls can block it. A page with only an 18+ section isn’t marked that way, because nothing on the page itself is for adults.
Reports, and what happens after one
Anyone can report a page, and a person on our team reads every report.
If one link or picture breaks these rules, we tell you exactly which one and why, and give you three days to fix it. Your page stays up.
We take a page down straight away only for anything sexual involving someone under 18, intimate pictures shared without consent, in-person sexual services, or impersonation. We still tell you why.
When we take a page down, its address stops working straight away. We keep what was on it out of sight rather than delete it, so a person can look at it again, and so we can give it to the police when the law requires it.
You can reply to the message we send you and ask a person to look again, including when you think we’ve made a mistake about someone’s age.
Undoing a mistake
Anything you take off your page is kept for 30 days, so a mistake can be undone: earlier versions of your page, with the blocks in them, and pictures, videos and files you remove or replace. Every version you publish is kept for 30 days after you publish the next one, and your last 30 however old they are; a version you’ve named is kept until you delete it. In those 30 days you can restore a version, or put an upload back, from Versions in the editor, or ask us to. Then the nightly clean-up deletes them.
So this can’t fill up, we keep at most 500 versions and 200 MB of removed uploads for each page, and past that the oldest go first. An upload you never published is deleted after a day, and a version you delete yourself goes straight away.
Leaving
Export everything whenever you like, in formats you can use elsewhere: your page as JSON from the editor, and your numbers and subscribers as CSV from your numbers page.
Delete your account from the editor, or ask us to, and it’s gone, with everything attached to it. Pages you only help with stay with their owners. If you delete your account, we keep your page, its versions and your uploads out of sight for 30 days, so we can bring them back if it was a mistake: email hello@cadenic.studio from the address you signed in with and ask. Nobody sees them in that time, and after 30 days they’re deleted. Nothing else is kept: your numbers, your email list and the rest go straight away, and a paid mark or Unmarked doesn’t come back by itself.
A page we took down after a report is different: we keep it out of sight for a year, because the law can require us to hand it over.
What we can promise
Portage is provided as is, without any warranty.
We work hard to keep pages online, but we can’t promise they’ll never go down.
To the extent the law allows, Cadenic Studios is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of Portage.
Nothing here takes away rights you have under the law where you live.
We may change or end the service. If we ever shut Portage down, we’ll tell you well ahead of time, and you’ll be able to export everything first.
What costs money
No feature is paid, and no feature you’re using today will become paid. You only pay if you want an identity or business check, Unmarked to take the Portage credit off a business page, room to look after more than ten clients’ pages from one account, or custom work from the studio. A check confirms a government ID, or a business’s own website or registration record, and is paid once a year. Custom work is agreed as set out below.
What you pay for is the check, done automatically or by a person if you’d rather. If it can’t pass, you get your money back and no mark is added.
Room to look after more than 10 other people’s pages from one account is $49 a year for each 10 more pages. It adds no feature and no seat, because every tool for looking after pages is free at any size. You can have a full refund for room within 30 days of paying for it, for any reason. Room you add partway through your year is charged for the months left of it, and room you take away ends when its year does. After 30 days the rest of a year isn’t refunded.
Unmarked bought by a page’s manager for a page they don’t own is $49 a year for that page. An owner buying it for their own page pays the usual price. Who pays for something on a page doesn’t change who owns the page: what’s paid for stays with the page if it changes hands, and the person who paid can still cancel it.
You can pay for a check, Unmarked or room by Interac e-Transfer if you bank in Canada, or by bank transfer where the site offers it when you tell it where you live. No money changes hands on a Portage page.
Paying by card isn’t open yet. Every order today is paid by Interac e-Transfer or by bank transfer, and sold to you by Cadenic Studios directly.
An Interac e-Transfer is sent from your own bank to hello@cadenic.studio, in Canadian dollars, with the reference code the site gives you when you choose it. We’re a small supplier under Canada’s GST/HST rules, so the amount is the price with no tax added. We match your payment by its code, usually within two working days, and email you a receipt, and the paid year starts then. A code you don’t pay within 14 days expires, and you can ask for a new one. An e-Transfer pays for one year and doesn’t renew by itself: in the last 30 days of the year, the page offers you the next one, and a year paid early starts when the current one ends.
A bank transfer is sent from your own bank to Cadenic Studios’ business account at Wise, in your own currency, for the price the site shows you there, with the reference code it gives you. No tax is added. We match your payment by its code, usually within minutes of it arriving, and email you a receipt, and the paid year starts then. A code you don’t pay within 14 days expires. A bank transfer pays for one year and doesn’t renew by itself.
If you send more than the price, or pay a code that’s already been paid, the extra isn’t ours: we send it back to the account it came from within 14 days. If you send less, we wait up to 14 days for the rest, then send back what came. Money that reaches us without a code we can match goes back within 14 days too, unless you tell us it’s a gift.
Anything bought through Polar before 28 September 2026, or on Stripe’s checkout after that, stays under their terms until it ends.
An e-Transfer pays for one year and doesn’t renew, so there’s nothing to cancel. To stop something bought through Polar or Stripe, email hello@cadenic.studio and it won’t renew. The mark comes off when the paid year ends.
If a check doesn’t pass, you get a full refund whenever that happens, and no mark goes on your page. If you change your mind, you get a full refund within 30 days of paying, whether or not the check has been done yet, and the mark comes off if it’s already there. Anything bought through Polar or Stripe that renewed for another year can be refunded in full within 30 days of the renewal too. The refunds page has the rest, including how to ask.
Nothing here takes away rights you have under the law where you live.
Supporting Portage is a gift and doesn’t buy anything. Gifts by card are given once through Gumroad (gumroad.com), the seller of record for gifts under its own terms. Gumroad sells nothing else of ours. A gift can also be sent by Interac e-Transfer, once or repeating every month from a Canadian bank, or by bank transfer where the site offers it, once or repeating from your own bank.
Unmarked is for a business that wants its own brand alone on its page. It’s paid once a year and takes the Made with Portage credit off your published page from when your payment is confirmed until the paid year ends. It doesn’t add any features or marks, and there’s no check involved. Cancel it at any time and it won’t renew, and the credit comes back when the paid year ends. You can have a full refund for Unmarked within 30 days of paying for it, for any reason, and the Made with Portage credit comes back on your page. After 30 days the rest of the year isn’t refunded.
If we ever stop offering a check, Unmarked or room, or shut Portage down, we refund the part of your year you haven’t used.
Custom work
Custom work is agreed separately, in writing, with Cadenic Studios, and that agreement governs it. Anything built as a Portage feature becomes part of Portage and is free for every page; artwork, palettes and marks made for you are yours.
Custom work is never a way to buy a Portage feature, since they’re all free already. Asking us about it doesn’t commit you to anything.
Governing law, and who to write to
These terms are an agreement between you and Cadenic Studios, which makes Portage. Cadenic Studios is a sole proprietorship owned by Wyatt McPherson in Edmonton, Alberta.
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada, and the courts of Alberta have jurisdiction.
Nothing here takes away rights you have under the law where you live.
Cadenic Studios, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
That’s all of it.
Questions about any of this? Email hello@cadenic.studio and a person will answer.
