Email sign-ups

Collect emails from your link in bio, and keep the list.

Accounts get banned, feeds change and reach drops. An email address is yours. Put a sign-up on your page and download the list whenever you want it.

Free on every Portage page, with every other feature. Nothing to upgrade to.

Quiet Harbour, an example newsletter writer. Open the page

A sign-up form that does one job well.

  • Your words on it

Your own title, a line about what people will get, your own button and your own thank you. Short is better, and the form stays short.

  • Download it whenever

The list is on your numbers page as a CSV, with the date each person signed up, ready for whichever email service you use.

  • Ask which show is nearest

A band or a touring artist can ask fans to pick a town, and see how many people are near each one before booking.

Three steps to a list.

Start a page with a sign-up

  1. Add an Email row.

Give it a title that says what people get and how often, like “One email when we book new shows”.

  2. Publish and share.

Sign-ups arrive on your numbers page straight away.

  3. Download the CSV.

Bring it to whatever you send email with. Every address you download comes with an unsubscribe link you can use.

The same form, three ways.

A newsletter, a band and a podcast, each with its own words. The form takes the page’s colours and typeface, so it never looks bolted on.

  • A newsletter, front and centre, from Quiet Harbour
  • A band asking which show is nearest, from Maple & Rust
  • A podcast’s email for new episodes, from Room Tone

What Portage won’t do with it.

  • Portage doesn’t send email to your list. Download it and use whichever email service you like.
  • We never email the people on it, never sell it and never use it for anything of ours.
  • There’s no double opt-in step built in. If you need one, your email service can send the confirmation.

Questions about the list.

Does Portage email my subscribers?
No. Portage collects the addresses for you and that’s all. You download the list and send from whichever email service you like.
Is there a limit on how many people can sign up?
No. The form and the downloads are free, with no cap on the list.
Can I move the list to my newsletter service?
Yes. Download the CSV from your numbers page and import it there. The columns are plain, so any service that takes a spreadsheet can read it.
Can I ask people which show is nearest?
Yes. Turn on the question in the form’s options, and fans pick a town from your upcoming dates or type their own. Your numbers page shows how many people are near each one.

Own the way you reach people.

Pick a handle and your page starts with a sign-up form ready for your own words.
