Commissions
Your commission status on your link in bio, kept by your page.
Are you taking work, how much is it, and where’s mine? Your board answers all three, so your DMs can be about the work.
Free on every Portage page. Nothing to upgrade to.
An illustrator, a colourist and a printmaker.
Boards on three example pages. The same row keeps a book of appointments as well as a queue of art.
An illustrator’s commissions, from Isla Brennan A colourist’s books, open or full, from Willa Marchetti A printmaker’s board, from Sable Creek
What the board keeps for you.
Open, waitlist or closed
Set how many slots you have and the board counts down. When the last one goes, it switches to a waitlist, or closes if you’d rather.
A closing day
Pick the day you stop taking requests, and the board closes itself that day.
Prices in your words
Each kind of piece with its price and how long it takes, written the way you’d say it. Nothing is sold here, so the words can be yours.
Where each piece is up to
A queue of initials or nicknames, each at waiting, sketch, lines, colour or done, so clients can see their place.
Opening your board.
Add a Commissions row.
Choose open, waitlist or closed, and how many slots you have.
List what you make.
Each kind of piece with its price and turnaround, and where the Request button should go.
Move the queue as you work.
Initials only. Step each piece along from sketch to done, from your phone.
What the board doesn’t handle.
- It takes no payments and no deposits. The Request button goes to your form, your email or wherever you take requests.
- The queue won’t show an email address or a link, because it’s a list about other people. Use initials or a nickname.
- It counts the slots you mark as taken. It doesn’t know who’s paid you.
Questions about commission boards.
Can my link in bio say whether my commissions are open?
Do clients see their names on the queue?
Does Portage take a cut of my commissions?
Let the board answer “are you open?”
Set your slots once, and the board keeps count for you.
