Your link on Bluesky
How to put your link in bio on Bluesky.
On Bluesky, an address in your bio can be tapped, so your Portage page goes in your bio text, with ?via=bsky on the end. Bluesky is also adding link buttons under the bio, which you may not see yet.

What Bluesky allows for links today
- An address in your bio can be tapped. Since September 2026 it opens through Bluesky’s own link redirect.[1]
- A bio holds 256 characters, and the app has no separate website field yet, so the address goes in the bio.[2]
- Bluesky’s app is adding up to 10 link buttons under the bio, in release 1.136.0. They’re behind a switch Bluesky turns on, so you may not see them yet.[3]
- Those buttons take https links only, and refuse general link shorteners.[3]
- Accounts with age limits on them, like those in Safe mode, can’t add or edit those buttons.[4]
Checked on . Apps change their rules, so open the sources if something on your screen looks different.

Putting your Portage page on Bluesky
Your Portage page goes in your bio text, and in the link buttons once you have them.
- Publish your Portage page, then copy its address. In the editor, Share links has it ready with ?via=bsky on the end.
- In Bluesky, go to your profile and tap Edit profile.
- Paste your address into your description, on a line of its own, and save.
- If you see Links in Edit profile, add it there too, and drag it to the top.
See which visits came from Bluesky
Add ?via=bsky to the address you put on Bluesky, and those visits show in your numbers as your Bluesky link, apart from every other place your page is shared.
portage.camp/@yourname?via=bsky- In the editor, open Share links. Once Bluesky is one of the profiles on your page, there’s a button that copies this address for you.
- For a second spot on the same app, type your own word in the “Somewhere else” box, like one word for each video or post, and each shows up on its own line.
- The word only names where a visit came from. Nobody’s identity is in it, and Portage counts visits without cookies.
If Bluesky says a link may be unsafe
Bluesky decides its warnings from its own list. A link on it shows “Potentially Dangerous Link” with “This link may be malicious. You should proceed at your own risk.”, or “Blocked Link” if Bluesky has blocked it.
- Check the address you pasted.Open it yourself in a private window. A typo, an extra space or a shortened link in front of it can trip a warning, so use your page’s own portage.camp address with nothing in front of it.
- Look at every link on your page.A warning can come from what your page links to, not just from your page. Open each link and take out or replace any that goes somewhere you don’t trust, or that now goes somewhere new.
- Look up the address with Google.Search for Google’s “Safe Browsing site status” and paste in your page’s address. It says whether Google lists the address as unsafe, which rules one common list in or out.
- Ask Bluesky to look again.Bluesky hasn’t published a form for link owners. If the steps above don’t clear it, tell us, and we’ll take it up with Bluesky.
- Tell us.If the warning is about portage.camp itself, report it as a bug from the link at the foot of any Portage page, with the app’s name and what it said. We’ll look into it and take it up with the app.
What people ask
Why is the source Bluesky’s code?
Bluesky has no help page about profile links yet. Its app is open source, so the code it ships, and the notes on each change, are the most direct word from Bluesky on how links work today.
Is a Portage page free to use on Bluesky?
Yes. Every page feature is free for everyone, including stats, scheduled links, email sign-ups and every theme. There’s no trial, and you never need a card to make or keep your page.
Will ?via=bsky change where my link goes?
No. It opens the same page. The word only tells your numbers which link the visit came from, so you can see what Bluesky sends you.
