Countdowns
A countdown on your link in bio, to the moment that matters.
A launch, a premiere, a tournament or a wedding. Your page counts down to it in every visitor’s own time, then says what you want said when it arrives.
Free on every Portage page. Nothing to upgrade to.
A tournament, a wedding and a unit test.
Countdowns on three example pages, each with its own line for when the time comes.
A team’s home tournament, from Coulee Rollers A wedding day, from Noor & Sam A class’s next test, from Room 214 Science
What a countdown shows.
The date, always
The day and time stay on the page beside the counter, so a screen reader, a search engine and someone who just wants to know which Thursday all get the date.
Your words for after
When the moment comes, the counter gives way to a line of yours, like “It’s started” or “We’re married”.
Still, when asked
For visitors whose phone is set to reduce motion, it doesn’t tick every second. It says how long is left, plainly.
Setting a countdown.
Add a Countdown row.
Give it a title, like “Doors open in”.
Pick the moment.
A date and a time, or a whole day for something like a release date.
Write what it says after.
One line for when the counter reaches zero. Leave it empty and it says the moment is here.
Where a countdown stops.
- It counts to one moment. For a run of dates, use an Upcoming dates row.
- It doesn’t take itself down afterwards. Give the row a Disappears time if you want it gone.
- Without scripts, a browser shows the date and time but no counter.
