Downloads
Add a PDF to your link in bio for people to download.
A menu, a media kit, a stage plot or a worksheet. Upload it once and it sits on your page as a row that says what it is and how big it is before anyone taps it.
Free on every Portage page. Nothing to upgrade to.
What a download row does.
Says what it is first
The row shows that it’s a PDF and its size, so nobody on a phone is surprised by a 9 MB file over their data.
Your details stay yours
Before anyone downloads it, we take out what a PDF quietly records: the author’s name, the software, when it was made and changed, and the camera notes in its pictures.
Nothing in it runs
Scripts, attached files and actions that open other programs are taken out too. What’s drawn on the pages stays exactly as you made it.
Putting a file on your page.
Add a File (PDF) row.
It’s in the block picker. Choose the PDF from your phone or computer.
Give it a plain title.
Say what’s in it, like “Stage plot and rider” or “This week’s menu”.
Publish the cleaned copy.
It goes up with your page. Upload a new one whenever it changes, and the row keeps its place.
A stage plot, a price list and a handout.
Download rows on three example pages. Each one is saved under the file name its owner gave it.
A band’s stage plot and rider, from Maple & Rust A bakery’s full price list, from Stonefox Bread A class handout, from Room 214 Science
What files can’t be.
- PDFs only, up to 10 MB each, and up to five on an account.
- We clean what a PDF hides, not what it shows. Read your pages over for anything you’d rather not share.
- A page with a content warning for adult work can’t have downloads.
Questions about downloads.
Can I put a PDF on my link in bio?
What hidden details do you take out of a PDF?
Will the file look the same after it’s cleaned?
Can I share other kinds of files?
Hand them the file, not your name in it.
Upload your PDF once, and it’s cleaned before anyone downloads it.
