Moving from Linktree

Move from Linktree to Portage.

We can’t read Linktree pages from their address, so your own browser does the reading. Copy your page, paste it on portage.camp, and you’ll see it rebuilt before you sign up. Nothing goes public until you publish.

An example page before and after moving to Portage. Before, it’s a plain grey list of four links. After, it has a lake scene at the top and coloured buttons.

A made-up page, before and after the move. You see yours rebuilt before we ask for your email.
How it comes over
Copy your page and paste it on portage.camp
What you need
A phone or a computer
What it costs
Nothing. Every feature is free.

Step by step

On a phone

  1. Open your Linktree page. The link in your own bio opens it, or type its address into your browser.
  2. Press and hold on some words, then tap Select All, then Copy.Hold until the words are highlighted and a menu shows. Select All takes in the whole page, links and all.
  3. Paste it into the box at the top of portage.camp.The first button on this page opens it. Press and hold in the box under Your link in bio and tap Paste. Your page is rebuilt there in a few seconds, before you sign up.
  4. Keep it.Tap Keep this page, enter your email and open the link we send, or type the code in it. There’s no password. Your page opens in the editor, and nothing goes public until you publish.

On a computer

  1. Open your Linktree page in another tab.Your public page, the one your visitors see, not the one where you edit it.
  2. Press Ctrl+A, then Ctrl+C.On a Mac it’s Cmd+A, then Cmd+C. That copies the whole page, links and all.
  3. Paste it into the box at the top of portage.camp.The first button on this page opens it. Click the box under Your link in bio and press Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on a Mac). Your page is rebuilt there in a few seconds, before you sign up.
  4. Keep it.Press Keep this page, enter your email and open the link we send, or type the code in it. There’s no password. Your page opens in the editor, and nothing goes public until you publish.
Why not from its address?

Linktree’s rules for other websites (a file called robots.txt) ask every tool it hasn’t named, ours included, not to read its pages, and Portage always does what those rules ask. So we can’t read your Linktree from its address. Your own browser can, and that’s how it comes over.

If the copy doesn’t bring your links

Copy them one at a time instead: press and hold a link and tap Copy Link (right-click and Copy link address on a computer), and paste each one on its own line in the box for your links. On a computer you can also save the page with Ctrl+S (Cmd+S on a Mac) and choose the saved file.

What comes over

Comes with you

  • Your name, your bio and your profile picture
  • Your links, in the order you had them, with their section headings
  • The small pictures beside your links
  • Your social profiles, as a row of icons

May stay behind

  • Your old stats and any sign-up list your old service kept for you. Download those there before you close it.
  • Tools that only work on the old service, like its own checkout or booking calendar. The links to them come over.
  • If your bio or picture doesn’t come through, add it in the editor. It takes a minute.

Worth a look when your Linktree page arrives

  • Look over your sections and anything you sell. Sections come over as headings in their places, and products keep their prices.

What gets better on the way

While we rebuild your page, we look at the links you had and suggest what could work better. You choose, and nothing changes unless you tick it.

  • A live badge

A link to your Twitch or Kick channel can show a live badge while you’re streaming.

  • Players on the page

YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud and Vimeo links can play right on your page, so nobody has to leave it.

  • Your own email list

A newsletter link can become a sign-up box, and you can download the addresses whenever you want.

  • Files that stay put

A link to a PDF can become a file kept with your page, so it doesn’t break if the old one moves.

  • Codes with a copy button

A discount code gets a button that copies it, so people don’t have to type it out.

  • No cookie banner

Your page doesn’t use cookies, so there’s nothing for visitors to accept.

Bring your Linktree page over

Copy your page, then paste it in the box at the top of portage.camp. You’ll see it rebuilt before we ask for your email.
