The Long Portage

A paddling and backcountry Discord, mostly Canadian

It’s trip reports, gear talk and people looking for someone to paddle with. Say hi in the intro channel when you join.

Before you come in
Post your trip even if it was a day paddle down the river or it rained the whole time. Those are usually the best ones anyway. No one here cares what brand your tent is.
The rulesIt’s a short list, and number one is being nice to beginners.

What’s in Hangout

Someone waves a friend over from the tent, and they come and sit down. It was drawn for servers and group chats, and the friends who keep them going.

Typeface: DM Sans: a round, friendly sans serif that works for almost anything.
Buttons: Solid
Corners: Rounded
Background: Dark

The picture is your page’s banner and what people see when you share your link. Parts of it move, visitors can pause it, and it stays still for anyone with reduced motion turned on.

Like every theme, it’s a starting point. Put your own photos or video in the header, behind the page or on any button.
